Description:

Under general supervision this position performs processing, monitoring, reporting and maintenance for core banking systems such as T24, CSFi, ATMs, Cardwizard, Nautilus and DFM system, as well as back-ups and logging, production application deployment and updates. The functions performed or supported by the IT Analyst I – Operations assist in ensuring high availability and timely processing and maintenance of core systems including support of intra-day, scheduled, batch and close of business job streams and secure file transfers.

Accountabilities:

Data Centre Processing:
Actively monitor core systems for ATM availability, job processing, file transmission, file archiving and interface connectivity including backups.
Assist in performing and verifying database backups and recovery.
Identify and troubleshoot core system application issues.
Escalate unresolved issues to higher level support in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Maintain logs of system issues, batch postings, backups and up-to-date documentation.
Respond to technical and business user’s questions – responding to difficulties with core systems, providing instructions and or training as required, and diagnosing and solving common software problems.
Review, analyze, and evaluate historical core systems operations.
Run predefined daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly tasks and jobs to provide data to various interfaces.
Adhere to pre-established guidelines and instructions.
Perform FICS end of month process during morning shift [based on assignment].
Perform daily batch jobs, process data file transmissions, deliver reports, notices and label as scheduled. Troubleshoot and resolve data file transmission issues with vendors.
Create statement data files, transmit to printing vendors, and archive as per schedule.
Process intra-day, scheduled, batch and close of business (including end of month/year) job streams.
Generate and maintain data files under secure distribution environment to ensure data integrity.
Provide highest level of service by ensuring core banking systems are up and running.
Available 24x7 to manage core banking systems issues.

General Activities:
Work coverage to be performed during 8 hour rotating shift schedule [day/night shift] and may require work on weekends.
Act as an Operations technical resource for UNFCU staff.
Serve as secondary contact with maintenance vendors in order to assist with production issues.
Participate in training for new platforms, databases and software applications.
Complete and submit timely activity reports to management.

Qualifications:

An incumbent in this position must possess working knowledge of the Windows, database-oriented applications and file management. Computer networking and troubleshooting skills are valuable to this position. The ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently is required. Must be quality conscious and detail oriented with very strong ability to follow instructions on a consistent basis. Position requires strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills and the ability to multi task and prioritize workload to solve problems quickly.

A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position is the attainment of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Operations or equivalent years of experience working in a data center environment.

Additional qualifications preferred but not required:
Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within Credit Union, Banking and or Financial Services industries
A+ Certification
MCP or greater certifications [i.e. developing Windows applications with MS Visual Studio]
Working knowledge of Microsoft Back Office Technologies
