Description:
Responsible for supporting the Office of Strategic Planning in the ongoing implementation and execution of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) throughout UNFCU as a strategy alignment tool. This support includes the corporate Scorecard, the various cascading Scorecards at the Senior Vice President and Chief/First Vice President levels, and any future Scorecards. The Strategic Planning Analyst helps to translate UNFCU’s strategy into performance measures through the use of strategy maps at varying tiers throughout the organization. To achieve this, the Strategic Planning Analyst takes part in all activities related to the various phases of the creation and implementation of Scorecards such as collaborating and engaging with various stakeholders in drafting strategy maps and identifying key performance measures and targets; facilitating the gathering and tracking of data and measures; assisting in organizing strategy review meetings; and communicating results. This position reports on the use of Balanced Scorecard enterprise-wide and records successes and challenges. Additionally, the Strategic Planning Analyst assists the Office of Strategic Planning with enterprise-wide strategic planning duties including the ongoing application of the Strategic Learning Process.
Accountabilities:
• Assist the Office of Strategic Planning in managing UNFCU’s corporate Balanced Scorecard as well as the multiple cascading Scorecards at varying tiers within the organization.
o Scorecard management includes gathering metric data, inputting data into the Scorecard management software, analyzing data for strategic recommendations, and reporting.
• Aid business units in setting measure targets.
• Develop and deliver BSC training and education to staff.
• Assist in organizational strategic alignment by ensuring business units are collecting, analyzing, and reviewing their Scorecard data.
• Facilitate Strategy review meetings at the senior and mid-level management levels.
• Facilitate Scorecard refresh workshops to help business units update their Scorecard objectives and measures and ensure strategic changes are incorporated into Scorecards.
• Help draft strategic communications to ensure the Strategy as executed through the BSC is communicated throughout the organization, including updates to the BSC section of the Strategy Intranet page.
• Assist in the identification and prioritization of strategic initiatives aligned to the BSC as well as gather information on the status of ongoing strategic initiatives.
• Help the Office of Strategic Planning work with the business units to align individual employees’ goals and objectives to the organization’s overall Strategy.
• Collect and disseminate BSC best practices and lessons learned throughout the organization.
• Provide support for strategic planning activities including assisting the various strategic planning teams or specialized task forces; serve as a team member as requested.
• Perform other duties, including administrative activities and meeting/event planning, as required to support the Office of Strategic Planning.
Qualifications:
TYPE & AMOUNT OF EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management or related field required, plus prior experience working for a financial institution or in strategic planning and utilizing the Balanced Scorecard strategic management framework preferred
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
• High degree of proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Strong data analysis skills
• Familiarity with ClearPoint Strategy, Spider Strategies, or other Balanced Scorecard software preferred but not required

• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Proven analytical and quantitative skills
• Strong and professional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage relationships at all levels throughout the organization
• Ability to multi-task, managing multiple projects concurrently
WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS:
Standard office conditions.
